YEAR-END 2026
Where the year ends.
Five settings for principals and their families, from snow in the Alps to the Okavango after the rains, and six thoughts on the time in between.
From the founder
Where should the family be when the year turns?
Every October the question arrives, in different words. Snow or sun. Away or at home. Somewhere new, or somewhere the children already know the way to the beach.
This issue gathers five answers: Courchevel for snow, the Seychelles aboard Aqua Lares for the sea, the Okavango and the Kalahari for the wild, Cape Town for summer at home, and St Barts for warmth. None of them is right for every family. That is rather the point.
What they share is the way we plan them: around the people travelling, not the property. The chalet is forgotten by spring. The fire after the last drive, the instructor who knew their name, the night the children stayed up for the fireworks: those are what a family keeps.
